Choosing the right ball valve ball material directly impacts valve reliability and maintenance cost. Below is a 2026 updated comparison for common materials:

  1. 304 Stainless Steel: General water, low pressure, non-corrosive; cost-effective, ANSI 150#
  2. 316 Stainless Steel: Marine, mild acid, food grade; better corrosion resistance, ANSI 300#
  3. F6a (440A): Hardened, wear-resistant; for general hard seal, 500–800HV
  4. 440C: High hardness (HRC 58–62), best wear resistance; for high-cycle abrasive service
  5. Inconel 625: Extreme corrosion, high temperature (650℃ ), H₂S; for oil/gas sour service

We provide custom ball valve balls in all materials, with NACE MR0175 certification available.
